When I go to work, people shoot at me. When Ray goes to work, people do the wave.”
-Robert Barone; “Everybody Loves Raymond”
We’ve all seen them. They’re the tape recorder in the corner of the television when you watch post game interviews of your favorite athletes. They’re the strange man with the pen and pad approaching your son or daughter after they helped lead their high school basketball team to victory. They’re characters on your favorite television sitcom. You read their work while you’re at work, and without them, many conversations would be plenty more awkward than they’re needed to be. They’re sports writers, and whether or not they receive your recognition, they’re still there, providing you with all your daily news pertaining to the world of sports.
Though few sports writers would define their job as glorious, this blog goes beyond the glory, and behind the music, if you will. This blog will follow the lives of Rowan University journalism students, all of whom, one day, aspire to be the article on your desk.
